Sappy Saturday

Well ok I'm going to be sappy today.  It's late and I'm amazed that I have so many of you that have stayed with me through thick and then.  I never dreamed when I started this blog that I would be touched by so many.  I've been honored again to receive more awards.  And usually I follow the rules specific.  We all know that I love to acknowledge blogs that are exceptional but right now.  I don't have time to go to each of your awards.  So I'll break the rules today.  I want each of you to chose the one award that fits you and take it with you.  Although a few of them I have left for all of you.  You know that I love you all.  I'm still trying to catch up on all the amazing blogs I found yesterday.  I have a lot more to get too.  So here we go.

I received the Honest Scrapper Award and This Blog Rocks from Lynn at MiddayEscapades.  As you are aware, Lynn is one of the co-hostess of Follow Friday.  She and I have developed a friendship that I am very honored to have.  Please go check out her blog.  You'll love it.

So the ten honest things about myself are:

1. I am utterly amazed that I still have readers.  I feel blessed every time I receive a comment. 
2. I do honestly care a lot more about what people think of me.  Though I try to hide it.
3. There is no greater joy than loving my children.  There is no harder joy of being a parent.
4. I love my husband unconditionally.  Yes yes I know you all think I'm sappy there.  But I do.  I am blessed no matter what tiffs we get into.  We still always support each other in the end.
5. I am a sexual being.  Wow that was hard to say so occasionally I do slip and mention something.  Most of you laugh at me when I do.
6. I am a widow.  I know what its like to watch someone you love die.  I know how much a miracle each moment of your lives are.  I know that its possible to love two men in a lifetime.
7. I love corny outspoken people.  Some say I am but I don't see it.
8. I cry easily for the littest things.  I cry when I get an award.  Yes I cried lots even when writing this post.  I feel so blessed.  I cry when my child get hurt.  Even though I play the hard nose with them.  I think you have to let kids learn themselves.  And then I cry when they get hurt.
9. I hate when people belittle another.  I will stand up and shout at someone when it happens if I see it.
10. I'm a perfectionist which means I probably rechecked this post 50 times before sending it out.  Probably still a mistake cuz I gave up.

I have the best followers - Tips to help and Awards

I've been saying this for the longest time but it is soooo true.  I have the best followers.  My followers are wonderful.  Yes yes I'm buttering you up.  You see this week I have been trying to catch up on all my reading.  I'm sure that most of you saw me commenting.  But I ran into a few things that slowed me down.  I know I know.. So I'm going to give some tips that I got from my friend, Lee at Headaches, Hotflashes and Hormones.  Now if you haven't checked her out, get your butts over there.  She's totally funny and upfront.

So here are the tips:

NO REPLY AT BLOGGER DOT COM

I mean I hate it.. I despise it.  I want to respond to you all by email.  I love responding by emails.  I love talking to you all.  I want to know about my readers.  So I respond to every email I get.  Until I see the hated "no reply at blogger dot com."  So Lee taught me how to get rid of this issue.  You can find this information here as well.  But to make it easy I am going to post it here for you.  I expect you to visit Lee though.  The directions are as follows:

1. Go to your Dashboard on Blogger dot com.
2. Hit your edit profile, right next to your picture, avatar or whatever else you have showing.
3. Scroll down to the line that says : Show my email address and CHECK THE BOX.
4. Hit save.

Now, for those of you who do not want a regular email address to show, go to Gmail, Yahoo or any other number of places and get a FREE, yes FREE, email account and set it up.


WORD VERIFICATION

Ok I hate hate this as well.  I don't know why but my eyes do not do this well at all.  Or I hit save and then close.  Guess what happens?  You don't get my comment and sometimes I don't realize.  So I might have been commenting all along.

Now to turn off this awful thing and to help all of your commenters' eyes, do the following:

1. Go to your Dashboard at blogger dot com.

2. Click on Settings, which is under the name of your blog.
3. Click on Comments, which is on the top of the page.
4. Scroll down until you see this: Show word verification for comments?
5. Click the box that says NO.
6. Click Save settings at the bottom of the page. Please do not leave this page until you have saved settings.

Google Reader...wow

So my friend blueviolet over at A Nut in a Nutshell answered some questions on her blog awhile ago.  I decided to do the same questions.  Please be sure to check her out.

You're kind of crazy with your commenting. What gives?

I love love to read other blogs but I'm so far behind right now.  I am trying to catch up I promise.  But it seems that I keep falling behind no matter how I try.

I was trying to keep up with all of my followers blogs.  But honestly its impossible.

So following blueviolet's example, I am now using Google Reader to do the following:

I have a folder of Must Read blogs in my google reader. Once I find that I'm visiting a blog frequently, it goes in that folder.

My friends are automatically put in there.  I'm always looking for new and fun blogs to read.  Keep my interest..be funny I'm gonna follow you.

If you follow me, if you make comments on my blog.  I will follow you as well.  I love to visit the people that comment on my posts.  I love to learn more about my readers.  I love to share with you.

I am trying to read my Must Reads every day.  Now since I just started google reader, I have like a 1000 posts that show as new.  I'm doing my best to catch up with everyone.  I was behind before but I didn't know it was that much. 

If I find that I am leaving comments and never getting answers back... I will stop commenting.  Just like blueviolet, I don't like one-sided friendships. 

So if you are following me, expect that I am now a stalker of yours.  Ok ok I'm a friendly stalker.

Do you respond to every comment you receive?

A lot of times I answer your comments by email but sometimes I do it by stopping in at your blog.  I'm just finding it so consuming sometimes.  If you take the time to write a nice comment, I'm going to respond more than likely by email.  Please be patient though.  I do get behind.

I hate your giveaways. Why do you do them?

Well I have only done one of them.  I really liked it.  I expect that I will do more if... big if.. I can get sponsors.  If you want me to do a giveaway, please be sure to contact me.

How come you never post your awards?

So this question really doesn't apply to me.  I try to post all my awards.  I try to award them according to the rules.  I, also, try to never give an award out twice to the same person.  I simply love acknowledging my wonderful blogger friends and the new blogs I found. 

And another question of my own:  Will you being doing reviews in the future?

Yes, I plan on doing reviews in the future but I will always have a blog about something else on those days as well.  I don't want to become just one thing or another.

I love talking about my kids.  I love pictures.  I love sharing moments.  I love sharing things that I have experienced or will.  I love sharing my family's story.  But most of all, I love that you enjoy reading my blog.

Morning Coffee.. Handing Out Lemonade and Awards

I've been so blessed to have such wonderful followers.  I follow so many of you in return if you make comments.  You'll see me bouncing into your blog making comments.  I answer you by email as well when I can.  I feel like I'm getting to know each and every one of you personally.  I love so many of you.  I've laughed at jokes or comments.  I have literally rolled out of my chair on a few.  I have cried when I've read some stories.  I've cried when I've posted a few of mine.  I've raged when you've raged.  I've screamed when you've screamed.  I felt your pain.  I felt your laughter.  I felt your joy.  I've felt blessed by each and every one of you.  LOL I've even shared some with my husband who now thinks most of us are nuts.  What do men know? 

But the point is... every time that I receive an award.. every time.. I feel like I'm being honored by a close friend.  By someone that I respect.  Nothing can be better than that.  Now it takes me a while to get these done because I do try to pick the right people.  I, also, try to never give the same award to someone twice which means new blogs get it.  Yes I do play by the rules.  But its because to me its so very special and my momma taught me to play by rules.  OHHH wait... maybe I'm trying to do that so I can tell my kids I do.  LOL   Ok I'm rambling..On to the awards.

So many things...Awards..Dreams

First and foremost, thank you all for the warm support that you have given me.  Thank you all for the laughter that you have brought into my life with your wonderful stories.  Thank you for the tears that I have shared with you when something was wrong.  Thank you for all the smiles that I have received when you had an awesome Magic Moment.  Thank you for being with me through the ups and downs.  It's been over four months now and still I sit in amazement that I have been blessed to meet such wonderful people.  I write from my heart and share my hopes and dreams with you as they come.

I have a new dream... I want to learn photography.  I am a happy go lucky when I have a camera kinda gal.  But yet lately I've wanted to learn more about photography.  When I receive a compliment on a picture, I am so happy.  I actually think I blush.  That always makes me wonder... why is it that we can see other's abilities but yet we can not see our own? 

I'm sitting here with this sinus infection wishing it would go away.  So I missed my posting yesterday.  So here are a few post-its that came out of these days.

Rolling Out the Red Carpet

It's time to roll out the red carpet again.  I've been honored and literally made speechless this week with the support and awards that I have received from my followers.  So much bloggy love out there!  Since I got back from my vacation, I have felt my followers support more than I have ever felt anything.  I have such amazing followers.  Each of you have been there to support me as I've gone through the trying time with my sister and my daughter.  I have felt such bloggy love from my friends this week so I am honored beyond belief that you are here.

I've always maintained that I wrote this blog for my kids but now I'm finding that I write this blog for myself.  I write it to connect with you all to share stories with you and read your stories as well.  I find as I get more involved in my blog that I want to share my gripes.  I never thought I would do that.  It was quite fun to talk about what men-o-pause is doing to me.  It's fun to talk about what my husband did right or wrong.  It's nice to have a sounding board when I'm not sure what to do with Faith at school.  I feel like I have a lot of new sisters and feel honored to have you all as one.  So going on this.. my sisters have given me some awards that I will be sharing with you as well.

Lots of Awards

Today is Sunday.  My thoughts turn to my blessings of the week.  I have wonderful kids.  I have a supportive strong funny husband.  I have a family that I love to death.  My family is mostly in good health.  Though Jason has a cold.  I got to catch up with my sister this week.  I joined an awesome Mom's group.  I have been blessed with the best followers.

Now that brings me to the awards that I have just won.  I must tell you that my eyes fill with greatful tears every time I receive an award.   I can't believe that people are actually interested in what I have to say.  So I feel blessed every time I get an award.
